Last year was a big year for introductions. Paul and I launched Cheese Puff Co, then we welcomed our beautiful Zoe. Our little team of three worked hard at perfecting the recipe (and perfecting our sleeping patterns!) before introducing Cheese Puff Co to Fresh Farmers Markets all over Sydney.
It is here that we met many of the farmers and artisan producers whose products you find in this special marketplace. We have enjoyed getting to know the well-known favourites like Pastabilities, Pepe Saya and Sonoma, who despite being well established now have stayed true to their roots, setting up their stalls at local markets week in and week out just to ensure they stay close to their loyal customer base. We’ve especially enjoyed discovering some incredible produce coming from small local artisan makers. We’ve been blown away by the quality of these products and we’re convinced they’re all hidden gems waiting to be discovered. We are so excited to share them with you. We are humbled by our hard-working farmers and suppliers, who have been hit blow after blow by record breaking droughts, unprecedented bushfires and now COVID-19.
Big and small, it is undeniable that everyone in the hospitality and food supply chain has been affected by the closure of cafes, restaurants and fresh food markets. For many of us the decision has been to either shut shop and cut our losses or to adapt to the current situation and drive our products online.
